HI,
I put together an application to aggregate data from XP SP2's firewall. One thing I want to be able to filter on is broadcast vs. non-broadcast traffic. I know that if the final chunk of the IP address ends in .0 or .255 it's broadcast, however, I'm still getting what looks like a lot of broadcast packets, say things ending in .250 or .239. Are these actually interpreted as broadcast, or am I to assume that I'm on a hub (as opposed to a router or switch that should have filtered out these non-broadcast packets)?
Any help will be apprecited.
I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.
